2023 RAM 1500 Power and Capabilities
The base model through the Rebel trim of the RAM 1500 comes with a 305 horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine generating 271 lb-ft of torque. The RAM 1500 has an eight-speed transmission in all its engines. Also, rear-wheel drive is a standard and four-wheel drive is available. When properly equipped, the RAM 1500 can tow up to 12,750 pounds.
The RAM 1500 has three other engines available for select trims. The 5.7-liter V8 engine that creates 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque is standard in the Laramie, Longhorn, and Limited, and is available in the Tradesman, Big Horn, and Rebel. The 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine with 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque is available in every trim except TRX. The TRX has a standard 702 horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that generates 650 lb-ft of torque.
RAM Tradesman (Base Model)
The RAM Tradesman is the base model for the 1500 and has several standard features for the exterior, interior, technology, safety, and driver assistance. The standard interior features include a six-speaker stereo and cloth or vinyl upholstery. The standard technology features include a 5-inch touchscreen, and USB ports, with the option for satellite radio. The Tradesman has standard safety and driver assistance features, such as a rearview camera, and also has the option for blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keep assist. The exterior has the option for air suspension.
RAM Big Horn
The RAM Big Horn has a lot to offer with several new feature options. The Big Horn's exterior has the option for a Class IV trailer hitch and in-bed lighting. The interior has the optional addition of a heated steering wheel, power-adjustable pedals, two rear USB ports, two household-style power outlets, a 10-speaker stereo, dual-zone automatic climate control, and eight-way power adjustable driver's seat. The Big Horn has several technology feature options as well. Those optional features include an 8.4-inch touch screen, satellite radio, universal garage door opener, auto-dimming rearview mirror, Android Auto™, Apple CarPlay®, head-up display, rear parking sensor, single-pane and dual-pane sunroof, rear-camera mirror, 7-inch digital instrument cluster display, remote start, and navigation.
RAM Rebel
The RAM Rebel had additions to the exterior features, like a larger axle ratio and electronic locking rear differential. The interior added features, such as leather upholstery and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon stereo. The Rebel's safety and driver assistance feature added forward automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning; it also had the option for automatic high-beam headlights and stop-and-go adaptive cruise control. The technology features have an option for a 12-inch touchscreen.
RAM Laramie
RAM Laramie added standard technology features, like an 8.4-inch touchscreen, a 10-speaker premium stereo, Android Auto™, and Apple CarPlay®. They also have optional technology features, such as HD Radio and wireless device charging. The Laramie optional safety and driver assistance features include a power tailgate, automatic high-beam headlights, rear parking sensors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring. The Laramie also has advanced options like park assist, surround-view parking camera system, pedestrian detection, head-up display, and blind-spot monitoring. The interior has the addition of reclining rear seats. The exterior is the same as the previous trim levels.
RAM Longhorn
The RAM Longhorn had some interior features additions, such as leather upholstery and heated rear seats, and the exterior has an option for power-deploying running boards. The technology added features, like navigation and HD Radio, and has the option for a 19-speaker premium stereo and wireless device charging. The safety and driver assistance features added rear parking sensors and the option for blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
RAM Limited
The RAM Limited exterior has the addition of air suspension, and the technology added wireless device charging. The safety and driver assistance features saw the addition of blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Any other feature that is standard in the previous trims is available for the Limited.
RAM TRX
The RAM TRX has the same interior, technology, safety, and driver assistance available as the previous trims. The exterior added full-time four-wheel drive, retuned suspension, launch control, unique chassis, and performance engine cooling. The TRX exterior has the option for a RamBar light bar and bed-mounted spare tire holder.
